Treating Medical Complications in Children and Adolescents with Feeding and Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are serious disorders with significant and often life-threatening medical complications. This presentation will review the evidence-based medical complications and treatments that are common in children and adolescents with eating disorders. The presentation will focus on the evidence-based therapeutic strategies for these medical complications including insights about nutritional rehabilitation. This presentation is relevant to all clinicians caring for individuals with eating disorder given that these disorders are associated with medical complications which directly impact the patients’ ability to achieve a successful outcome. Active discussion from participants will be encouraged.
